WhaleWars is a free-for-all in the deep: eat, evolve and hunt your way up through 21 forms. Bigger forms hit harder but turn slower, so every size has a way to win.
How to play WhaleWars
A match seats eight; bots fill any empty seat.
The ring holds its full size for twenty seconds, then closes over two and a half minutes. Ten seconds outside it and you are out.
Last one swimming wins.
Survival is the solo mode: waves and bosses on a seed that changes every week, with its own leaderboard for that seed.
Controls
Keyboard and mouse
- The mouse steers.
- Left-click attacks — one swing per click.
- Shift sprints in the free-for-all (it costs XP); in Survival it is a dash.
- Hold Space to hold your position and time a swing.
- Press 1 for the emote wheel, then 1–4 to pick one.
- Esc opens settings, P pauses Survival, Enter dives again after a loss, M mutes.
Phone and tablet
WhaleWars needs a keyboard and mouse; it does not run on touch screens.
Modes
- Free-for-all: eight in the ring, last one standing.
- Survival: a solo run against waves and bosses, one seed per week.
Tips
- Eat the drifting food first. Anything a tier above you hits harder — swim away, feed, and come back bigger.
- Sprint is almost twice your speed but burns XP, so keep it for an escape or to finish a kill.
- In Survival the dash is a quarter-second burst at four times your speed with a two-second cooldown: use it to dodge, not to travel.
- Keep an eye on the ring edge. The ten seconds of grace outside it go faster than you think in a chase.
- Holding Space to stop dead is the cleanest way to let a chaser swim into your swing.
